MATCH REPORT

Paisley 12 - 29 Dalziel woman

A hard hitting and tough game in windy and wet conditions at Paisley today.

Not many details today as I forgot to take notes as the game was going.

The first half was a close affair, both teams putting in big tackles, working hard in defence. Dalziel made some good attacking runs. Both teams traded trys. The first half finished 12-17. I was happy with how the half went and the effort everyone put in to keep Paisley on the back foot.

The 2nd half started with the wind at our back. The players were instructed to keep the defence tight but in attack to run hard and fast. Use the support and break the line. The majority of the game was spent in the Paisley half with only short periods off time spent in the Dalziel half.

Paisley made some great tackles to keep the score down along with some handling mistakes on our part. The game finished 12-29 in our favour.

This was the last of our 15 a side games for the season. I have got to say how proud I am of how far our ladies have came in the 13 weeks i have been coaching them. Today, I could see the defensive structure and how well it worked when the stayed in shape. The team work was brilliant. In attack we started to have a shape and structure. The rise in confidence in all the players was great to see.
