OBITUARY | Craig Ross


We are saddened to learn of the recent passing of former club player, Craig Ross.

Craig played for Dalziel from 1980 until 1991. He made his 1stXV debut against East Kilbride in a Lanarkshire Cup Semi Final and from then became an integral part in Club's journey from Division 4 to Division 2. 

He played in 1stXV who gained promotion in 1987/88 to Division 2 and the next year being the highest placing club achieved in Scottish rugby. In April 1988 he scored the first try in our Glasgow Cup victory (the picture below is from this match). He played for Dalziel until 1991. 

He then went on to become a keen member of Kendal Rugby Club and throughout supporting Dalziel off the field. In recent years he has been active in helping with archive of Dalziel Rugby Club. 

Craig will be fondly remembered by his old playing buddies at Dalziel and Kendal. Condolences to his wife Jackie and their five children Ethan, Lukas, Mark, Scott and Suzanne.
