CLUB | NL SPORT AND VOLUNTEER AWARDS
CLUB | We’re absolutely delighted to announce that Dalziel Rugby Club was named NL Community Organisation of the Year at the NL Sport and Volunteer Awards.
The award is a huge honour and belongs to every single person who makes our club so special - our players of all ages, amazing coaches, tireless volunteers, dedicated committee members, loyal supporters, and the families who back us week in, week out. Dalziel has always been about more than just rugby, it’s about friendship, teamwork, belonging, and making a positive impact in our community. To see that recognised with this award means the world to us.
Our former Men's head coach and current Under 13 Boys' Coach, Graham Calder was also rewarded for his tireless work promoting rugby in schools. He collected the Secondary School Sports Champion Award. 👏
📣A Message from our club president📣
“We are absolutely honoured to be named North Lanarkshire Council's Community Organisation of the Year. This award is a testament to the incredible commitment of our volunteers, coaches, players, and supporters who make Dalziel Rugby Club a true pillar of the community. Rugby is more than a sport, it’s a way to bring people together, build character, and create lasting impact.
We’re especially proud of our partnership with SAMH, which helps us promote mental health awareness and support across all levels of the club. We also work closely with North Lanarkshire Council’s Active Schools Coordinators, whose support has been invaluable in helping us engage young people and grow the game at grassroots level. We’re proud to represent Motherwell and North Lanarkshire, and we’ll continue working hard to grow the game and support our local community. A special thanks must go to our development officer, Grant Talbot. Grant is an excellent figurehead for our club at grassroots level and does a fantastic job”
