Dalziel unable to overcome first half deficit
The day was bright, with a wet pitch underfoot as Dalziel welcomed Howe of Fife to Dalziel Park for this Premier 3 match. Dalziel started slowly and Howe took advantage of these making inroads into the Dalziel 22, but they were held out giving away a penalty in the process allowing Dalziel to clear. Howe continued their pressure however, and on seven minutes a straightforward backs move and some p... More...

Another West Side Story
Dalziel were looking to get back to winning ways but a well drilled West side had another story.

Dalziel started with being offside at kick off. West went for the scrum , which Dalziel won against the head. We went on attack and West gave away a penalty , but our kick to touch went too far and the advantage was lost.

Dalziel then defended well with Paul White taking ball off opponent but Dalz...

No returning joy for Cockburn as Dalziel win battle of the defences
The skies were leaden and threatening as Lasswade made their first trip to Dalziel Park, after their rapid rise through the divisions and Dalziel knew, with both teams sitting on a record of five wins and three losses, that the match would be a battle to be won in the forward trenches and this was to be the case. Extra spice was added as Lasswade's coach, Davie Cockburn had been Head Coach at the ... More...

Dalziel 1st XV 14 v 28 GHA
Dalziel travelled to GHA hoping to continue their run of relatively good form from recent weeks. Before the game it looked like the sun was out to provide a nice day for running rugby, but during the game a light drizzle fell on the pitch making the ball slightly greasy although not too bad to throw it around.

The Dalziel team began the game quite tentatively, standing back from their Glasgow co...

Dalziel 1st XV 3 v 15 Dumfries
On an unusually dry day down at Dumfries the ground was good for running on and there was no wind to contend with either. It was a very humid day however, and the Dalziel boys made the trip south hoping to take a win home with them. The Dumfries team had other ideas however, and were prepared to send the Motherwell team back up the road with their tails between their legs.

A game of aerial tenni...

2nd half comeback
Dalziel Came back from a halftime score of 10-0 down against Dumfries to get a bonus point win, 15-22.

Dumfries kicked off, we gathered ball and kicked into corner. Won the lineout and hit into Dumfries defence for a good start. From a messy scrum which we won, then Dumfries stole ball and then we turned them over and broke away to be tackled into touch

We then had a chance when we took scrum ...

2nd XV get back on track
Dalziel 2nd XV got back to winning ways with a nervous win over a plucky Perthshire team.

The team were nervous to get rid of losing tag from last week & also thought it would be easy as Perthshire only had a bare XV and no subs. Perthshire stuck in well and game could have went either way up until last 20 mins when Dalziel stretched away.

Dalziel had a strong start from kick off, hitting int...

Dalziel survive second half fight back
Dalziel got off to a storming start against Cartha on Saturday, scoring a try in the first minute. This was a signal of what was to come in the first half as this was the best start to a game they’ve had in a long while. From the Dalziel kick off, the Cartha stand off's clearance kick was wayward and full back Simpson replied with interest, pushing play onto the home sides 5m line. From the resu... More...

Under 18's come crashing back to earth.
On a firm, but very wet pitch that had been affected by a series of heavy down pours during the morning, the Dalziel Under 18s struggled to find any of the rhythm or passion they exhibited during last week’s fixture against Paisley/Whitecraigs.
After a slow start by the home side Greenock entered the Dalziel 22 and from an infringement from a ruck and Greenock Wanderers took an easy three points...

Indiscipline costs game
Dalziel had been warned over last few weeks that indiscipline was costly and in last 2 games lost 12 points in final 15 mins. Nevertheless we done exactly that going from 17 - 23 up to 29 - 23 down.

Hamilton started by taking the kick off but we managed to turn them over but kicked out on full giving them a line out on our 22. They won same and moved it wide along backline with Paul white tackli...
