Under 18's come crashing back to earth.
On a firm, but very wet pitch that had been affected by a series of heavy down pours during the morning, the Dalziel Under 18s struggled to find any of the rhythm or passion they exhibited during last week’s fixture against Paisley/Whitecraigs.
After a slow start by the home side Greenock entered the Dalziel 22 and from an infringement from a ruck and Greenock Wanderers took an easy three points...

Indiscipline costs game
Dalziel had been warned over last few weeks that indiscipline was costly and in last 2 games lost 12 points in final 15 mins. Nevertheless we done exactly that going from 17 - 23 up to 29 - 23 down.

Hamilton started by taking the kick off but we managed to turn them over but kicked out on full giving them a line out on our 22. They won same and moved it wide along backline with Paul white tackli...

Dalziel 1st XV 33 v 7 Haddington
Last season Dalziel suffered two disappointing defeats to Haddington, and on Saturday they hoped to improve this record with a win at home. The first half was a poor performance by the home side, as they had some encouraging play in the Haddington half but continuously lost the ball in contact or gave away soft penalties to allow the Edinburgh side to clear their lines, despite the strong wind aga... Biggar the better they fall
Dalziel played host to local rivals Biggar for bragging rights and won 31-12.

In the 2nd XV's it is par for the course to lose players in run up to game. Biggar had a few normal players missing and had to cancel their 3rd XV game to make numbers up to 22 in squad. Dalziel lost hooker Craig Lewis to 1st XV at noon, and this meant had to play with a more inexperienced lineout thrower , but much to ...

Dalziel 1st XV 34 v 10 Ardrossan Academicals
Dalziel were looking to get their first win of the 2011/2012 season as they played their first home game of the season. Ardrossan travelled up to Dalziel Park for this fixture, and the game was off to a fantastic start for the home team with a period of continued pressure in the visitors 22. A series of 5m metre line outs were successfully defended by Ardrossan before a miss pass to George Sloan a... More...

Good win against strong opposition.
Good win for 2nds again , especially as Musselburgh had a decent pack and caused us quite a few problems along with strong running backs. We started off strong and with some good breaks by Scott johnstone and Decker. First score came from free kick at lineout , quick take and pass out wide for Lewis Mathieson to go in at corner. 5 - 0 Then poor tackling and indiscipline gave Musselburg... More...

Dalziel 1st XV 13 v 25 Kirkcaldy
On the first game day of the 2011/2012 season, Dalziel travelled up to kirkcaldy in search of a win after a series of disappointing results during pre-season. The first 10 minutes of the game set the scene for the rest of the match with a series of messy scrums-despite conditions being good for running rugby with only a slight swirling breeze to contend with.

Early in the game Dalziel defended a...

Dalziel end season with defeat.
Dalziel travelled to Haddington for their last game of the season hoping to end the season on a high. They started brightly and looked intent on playing running rugby. Two early penalty attempts were dismissed when Full back Robert Simpson opted to go for touch instead of points, however, both kicks were put dead in goal and resulted in scrums for Haddington.

Haddington, instead, were gunning fo...

Dalziel travel to Dundee, but find Norway to beat Morgan
"It was the biggest game in the area!"

That's what the Norwegian Branch of the Stenhousemuir Supporters Club told us when they arrived at Forfar Road Playing Fields in Dundee on Sunday. Certainly, it was a big game for Morgan as they required 2 more points to maintain their Premiership status for another season; Dalziel, however, had been safe for a few weeks and were looking to build some momen...

Dalziel 1st XV 44 v 27 Dunfermline
Dalziel took to the field determined to carry on winning till the end of the season and started brightly. Early dominance was however short lived as Dunfermline opened the scoring with a breakaway try and conversion. A few minutes later and Dalziel responded with a score from Craig Simmonds converted by Robert Simpson. Two minutes later Lee McWhinnie went over in the corner only for the referee to... More...
