Dalziel 3rd XV 18 v 8 Cambuslang 2nd XV
For only the third time this season the the 3rds had a home game. Cambuslang came calling in the hope that a win would give them pole position for the play offs. Right from the kick off the 3s set out their stall by starting at a frantic pace. Neil Simpson ran a superb angle to create the first chance.

Cambuslang went over the top at the ruck and the resultant penalty was kicked to the corner by ...

RED HOT BLACK AND BLUES
Dalziel Under 18s wrought severe revenge on a weak Killie team who had defeated Dalziel earlier in the season in the league. Kilmarnock had gone on to qualify for the National Cup competition by coming third in the West Regional league and the Dalziel young bucks were out to overturn that early season defeat.

Right from the start the backs showed what was in store for the Kilmarnock defence, when...

Dalziel 3rd XV 29 v 8 GHA
The dazzlers took the short run to GHA on Saturday in the hope that a win will keep them in the hunt for a play off place. The game started at a frantic place pace with two evenly matched sets of forwards battling for the upper hand. However as one set Gained the upper hand loose passing or silly mistakes gave the advantage back to the other team. As half time approached the game had the making of... More...

Dalziel return to winning ways
Within roughly the first 5 minutes of the game kicking off, Dalziel had put their first points on the board with a spectacular try from Kris Watters. Sensing space on the blindside scrum half Andrew McLaren switched play and Watters found himself scampering down the touchline, beating 2 defenders and scoring in the corner with a celebratory point to the camera filming the game. Dalziel were on for... More...

UP TEMPO DALZIEL TOO HOT TO HANDLE
Dalziel Under 18s were back on the field for only the third time in 15 weeks against an Uddingston side that have a successful season so far, winning the West Regional Development league. The Motherwell team were at near full strength and were keen to have a run out before the up-coming cup game against Kilmarnock next Saturday, (3rd March).

Dalziel’s rustiness was evident at the start, with Ud...

Road to Murrayfield ends before it starts
After the frustration of last week’s late call off, Dalziel finally played their first fixture since November when Dumfries travelled up the M74 for the first of two visits within a week. While next week will be a welcome return to league business, this was the romance of the West Regional Cup.

The Dalziel Park pitch was damp, and the weather appeared to have improved as kick off approached, ho...

LEAGUE POINTS HEAD DOWN M74
On a dry, but overcast Saturday afternoon with no wind, Dalziel Under 18s played against a strong Dumfries team who had already won the West Regional league. Going into this game Dalziel knew that to win this and the last game of the league with bonus points, would still not get them into the National Cup play offs.

Dumfries started confidently and their big forwards controlled many phases of the...

Dalziel back to winning ways
On an extremely blustery day in Edinburgh, Dalziel travelled to Haddington hoping to put an end to their recent losing streak. With such a strong wind, both teams were going to have to minimize mistakes or else suffer the consequences of being put back into their own 22 by a huge kick on either turnover ball or penalties. Conditions were otherwise perfect however, and Dalziel were unusually qui... More...

Triple hat trick beats losing streak
Dalziel 2nd XV got back to winning ways on saturday with a comprehensive 93 - 19 win over a depleted Kirkcaldy. Dalziel had to give Kirkcaldy two players as they had only 13 players available , but all credit to them for wanting to fulfill the game in the spirit of rugby rather than cancel.

From a lineout shortly after kick off , Dalziel pack caught on drove maul 20 metres , set up a ruck from ...

DALZIEL WILT UNDER AYR PRESSURE
Dalziel Under 18s travelled down Alloway on Saturday 12th November for a league fixture against Ayr. The Motherwell team were once again under-strength with injuries, call offs and key player Grant Stewart promoted to the Senior 2nd XV.
Dalziel started confidently thwarting any of the Ayr attacks with ease. There were a number of mistakes made by the home team and Dalziel managed to capitalise on ...
