Inexperience the key but Dalziel make progress
Dalziel welcomed to Dalziel Park a much changed Perthshire squad from the one they played the last time they met. With players out through injury and work commitments the young Dalziel Team were up against it from the start against an experienced Perthshire team. To their credit the Dalziel players tackled hard and team defence at times was outstanding. Perthshire started well although they were h... More...

Brass neck of S1/S2 shines in a polished performance
Shyness, to be fair, has never really been an affliction of the boisterous S1/S2 combined squad.
But it was a mature and assertive performance, with a few individual streaks of brilliance, that earned this young Dalziel side a suitably bold victory against Cumbernauld.
On paper it looked like the Jordan Wallace show - and converting five of his own six tries this is a player who certainly isnâ...

Injuries and terrible discipline cost Dalziel
On a beautiful day for rugby and a big crowd in the stand; Dalziel welcomed Dumfries to Dalziel Park. This was always going to be a close game but injuries and terrible individual discipline was to prove costly for the home team.

Dalziel started the game well and looked like a cohesive, well structured unit in attack and defence. Some lovely breaks from Stand off Davie Aitken resulted in the Dum...

S1s man up as S2s lead the way
Their first foray into rugby on a full-size pitch on Scottish soil saw a man-sized performance from Dalziel’s S1 Midi squad.
Having received a baptism of fire into rugby-proper in Wales during their Dragons tour earlier this year, the battle hardened squad – along with their S2 counterparts - took on local rivals Hamilton in a quadruple whammy of matches.
First up were the S1s who we...

Springtime in East Kilbride
On a murky afternoon at Calderglen, when even the daffodils were sheltering from the cold North Easterly wind, Dalziel took on East Kilbride in the West Regional U16 Cup Final. Both teams had beaten more vaunted opposition to qualify, and hopes were high with both sets of supporters for a winning end to the season. The first 10 minutes were spent with both teams probing for weaknesses, which may g... More...

Dalziel U16s walking on Ayr
Dalziel played host to an all conquering Ayr side who have been unbeatable all season winning both the national league and cup. Dalziel U16s have gifted our opponents 2 tries in the first 10 minutes all season and there was much discussion in the changing room before kick off about this. The boys must actually have been listening as the starting kick was gathered and sent quickly along the line to... More...

Greenock comeback denies Dalziel.
Dalziel welcomed Greenock Wanderers to Dalziel Park on a wet afternoon for their first RBS Championship A League game since losing to Hamilton on the 21st of December.

From the kick off, Greenock were penalised for holding on, giving Ross Donnachie an easy shot at goal. The scrum half converted to give Dalziel a 3-0 lead within the first minute.

Dalziel pushed back into the Greenock half, aided...

Young Bloods Come Back from Behind Four Times to Win Local Derby

With the typical winter weather affecting matches all over Scotland, including the postponement of the Warriors match in Scotstoun on the previous evening, the Dalziel Dragons were pleased that Waysiders/Drumpellier RFC agreed to shift their home match to the Police Club, Lochinch in Pollock Park, Glasgow.
Although the skies were ...

Drookit Dalziel splash to the Top
A Game of Two Halves (We Won Both)
With the blowing high and low, the latest round of the West Division One Under 18 league was played at Dalziel Park in driving rain on a surprisingly good pitch that held up throughout the entire match.
All the talk before the game was about simple rugby and keeping the passes short, but unfortunately the message was forgotten in the very first passage of play, w...

Dalziel record cup win
On a crisp November afternoon, Dalziel welcomed Greenock Wanderers to Dalziel Park in RBS Cup action. Having not won a league game this season, Dalziel were hoping that the change to cup action could change their fortunes.

Dalziel started the game brightly, putting together multiple phases of play, but each time were undone by slack passing. Grant Clark and Grant Neilson were both putting pressur...
