Improvement, but no reward for Dalziel
Dalziel welcomed old foes Whitecraigs to Dalziel Park on Saturday which served as a tasty digestif to the Annual Family Fun Day that had been taking place on the main pitch. Dalziel had 10 changes from the team that lost to Falkirk the previous week enforced due to injury and work commitments.

Cameron King kicked off and immediately, Whitecraigs ran the ball back at Dalziel, with Derek McMillan t...

Good Away Win
Dalziel 2ndXV had their first competative win on Saturday , against a strong Livingston team who had won their league last year.

This follows a 2nd/3rd team squad of 28, win over Moffat on Tuesday night.

Livingston kicked off and Dalziel set up ball and Chris Hunter , who was playing his first game after 2 years , went back to old ways and the mobile prop kicked the ball upfield. ...

Dalziel 1st XV 5 v 30 Falkirk
Dalziel travelled to Sunnyside to play Falkirk in the second match of the RBS Championship A season. Having lost the previous week, Dalziel were aiming to make amends. However, the signs were ominous, when Falkirk took a quick penalty early on, and were able to beat the scramble defense and score to the right of the posts to gain a 7-0 lead after 4 minutes.

Immediately from the kick off, Dalziel ...

Double Yellow Costs Dalziel
Dalziel welcomed Ardrossan Academicals to Dalziel Park for the opening game of their 2013-14 RBS Championship A campaign. It was new coach John Mathieson’s first game in charge and he was hoping that the good form shown by his charges in pre-season would carry on.

Dalziel started by giving away a free kick for offside at the kick-off and things went from bad to worse as a second early infringe...

Dalziel do the double over Whitecraigs
Dalziel travelled to the south side of Glasgow to play their final game of the league season against old foes Whitecraigs. Knowing that their relegation rivals Dunfermline had completed their season the week before, Dalziel had to avoid a 90 point defeat to ensure that they would face Perthshire in a relegation playoff.

Whitecraigs kicked off and the kick was fielded by Eddy Ferguson. A maul was ...

Better Play But Not on Scoreboard
Dalziel 2nds played West of Scotland at Dalziel Park. As with all year it was a hard ask , with not many training lack of fitness is our enemy. Dalziel are playing good rugby in places but lack consisitency in that area. This shows up in tackle area where we go too high and are missing a lot to our detriment.

With players playing out of position or new to this level of rugby. Dalziel went b...

Clinical Dunfermline defeat Dalziel
Dalziel travelled to Fife to play Dunfermline in their penultimate league match. Dalziel needed a victory to put the pressure on their hosts in the relegation battle from Championship A.

Dalziel gain vital win in relegation fight
Despite having only three league games remaining, Dalziel were playing Whitecraigs for the first time this season after an earlier postponement of the fixture. Knowing that nothing less than a win would suffice in their bid to beat the drop, the Dalziel players were not intending leaving anything on the field.

The signs were ominous when Whitecraigs ran in an early try in the lefthand corner to l...
