Dalziel U 18s got revenge for their recent league defeat at home to Hamilton with a win away to Hamilton in the Bowl.
With some seven stalwarts missing (three calling off last minute this morning) it was fortuitous that the firsts game was called off as this released three of the U18s currently plying their trade in the senior team.
Thus we arrived with 17 lads only to find that Hamilton had only... |

Dalziel get back to winning ways with a hard fought victory over Preston Lodge at Dalziel Park. The Motherwell side started the game in their change strip and soon began to take the game to the opposition

| Dalziel travelled to the borders hoping to get their season back on track and push for promotion. Things started slowly for the Motherwell lads when they conceded an early try. However they quickly rallied and began to put pressure on the Langholm defence. Sustained fast flowing rugby resulted in a try by Blake Whitehaed converted by McAulay. Dalziel continued to attack and were rewarded with a pe... |

On a perfect day for running rugby Dalziel started the game as they had played the previous week against Annan. Dynamic and positive they took the game to the University side and were rewarded when a good move down the blind side resulted in a well taken try by Barry Turnbull.
Dalziel continued to press the students with Robert Simpson prominent with some searching kicks. It was the full back wh... |

This was by far one of Dalziels best performances of the season. The match was switched to the Annan second team pitch as the main pitch was waterlogged and by the end of the match it was dfficult to identify who was who such were the atrocious conditions. It was therefore a credit to both teams that they were able to produce an exciting game of rugby.

| With this victory Royal High Corstorphine moved into third place in National League one whilst Dalziel moved down to fifth five points behind the Edinburgh side. Dalziel had plenty of opportunities, particularly in the first half, to put the game beyond the reach of RHC but a combination of poor finishing and a lack of concentration again let Dalziel down not for the first time this season. | With the previous weeks match against Edinburgh University being rained off a scouting party from Dalziel made the short trip to East Kilbride who were hosting the league leaders Howe of Fife. EK were unlucky to lose 22 - 10 but the Dalziel scouts saw enough of Howe to give them some hope as they travelled to Cupar in Fife for the first time in a number of years. Many former Dalziel players will h... |

Dalziel travelled to Dumfries on Saturday knowing that a win could see them go second top of National Division 1.
Torrential rain accompanied the team on the bus journey south and on arrival at Park Farm it was obvious that it was going to be a tough afternoon with a gale force wind and driving rain greeting the visitors.
Dalziel started the game playing into the wind and for the whole of the firs... |

This was a great win for the S2s on the “big” pitch at Dalziel Park on a lovely afternoon for rugby. Even more pleasing was the way the boys responded to four of the starting fifteen being unavailable – including the captain, Gordon Campbell.
To his credit Gordon turned up to support the team (and to show off his stitches) but must now be worried about his place in the starting line up! He ... |

Playing in terrible conditions the 2nds produced a terrific display and scored five fine tries against a previously unbeaten Dumfries team. The team stuck to the game plan that the conditions demanded and played simple rugby.
When we play simple rugby we play very good rugby. The support play and off-loads before and after contact was excellent through-out. Unlike the previous week against Irvine t... |
