Dalziel 1st XV 16 v 30 Greenock Wanderers
Dalziel travelled to Greenock on Saturday determined to keep their unbeaten record in place and make their way to Murrayfield. What followed on a sunny afternoon at Fort Matilda was a great performance by the Greenock men and Dalziel returned back to Motherwell to reflect on their performance.

Greenock had spent this weeks training working on scrum and lineout hoping to have the edge in the set ...

Dalziel 1st XV 32 v 6 Glasgow Academicals
Dalziel continued the winning season with a fine performance at Anniesland. They travelled to the Glasgow Club knowing that it would be a tough afternoon but were full of confidence

On a blustery afternoon they stated their intensions from the K.O. by applying early pressure on Accies and after only 7 minutes they were on the score sheet. From a 5 metre scrum Blake Whitehead darted down the blind...

Dalziel 1st XV 45 v 7 Langholm
Dalziel travelled to Langholm on Saturday with a large support knowing that two points would promote the Club to Premier 3 and achieve the first goal of the season.

Straight from the kick off Dalziel were a joy to watch and entertained the crowd with some sparkling rugby. By the end of the first half the job was done. Within one minute from a scrum on half way Ross Donachie made a sniping break,...

Dalziel 1st XV 77 v 0 East Kilbride
This local derby has in previous seasons been a close match and Dalziel had during the week prepared for it, what they produced in the following 80 minutes was a master class in how to play positive attacking rugby.

East Kilbride started the game with some positive thrusts at the Dalziel defence and stout tackling was required by the home side. On the 12 minute Dalziel went on the attack with a p...

Dalziel 2nd XV 8 v 15 Cartha Queens Park
The second XV traveled to Cartha this evening to play a rearanged fixture. Both teams agreed it would be a double header and Dalziel had the chance to move up to fourth place in the league.

Dalziel started the game with some determined play and soon pressed the Cartha line but were repeatedly penalised by the referee for infringments baffling to players, coaches and supporters. From this point Car...

Dalziel 1st XV 55 v 14 Edinburgh University
Emerging from the big freeze Dalziel kick started the quest for promotion against old foes Edinburgh University. In front of 200 hundred fans they could not have asked for a better start. Within 5 minutes they were 7 to 0 up after an Edinburgh error allowed John Harris to picked up the loose ball and pass to Gillon Duguid who raced between the posts, converted by Robert Simpson.

Again within 10 ...

Dalziel 2nd XV 34 v 14 Kirkcaldy
With the 1st XV game at Annan called off due to a frozen pitch, the club’s focus changed to the 2nd XV game against Kirkcaldy. The loyal Dalziel fans made the trip up the M8 to Fife confident in seeing the team maintain their excellent season. Most weeks they play against clubs in the Premier Leagues, and this was no exception with the opposition a Premier 2 club. This also gave the 1st XV coach... More...

Dalziel 1st XV 32 v 10 Edinburgh University
Dalziel continued their season with this first round match in the Scottish Hydro Shield 1st Round against the students from Edinburgh.

Dalziel started the game with plenty of possession but the back division looked as if this was their first sight of a rugby ball and made several handling errors. This allowed the University side to get into the game and would have scored if Crawford Reid and Kri...

Dalziel 1st XV 11 v 6 Whitecraigs
It had been billed as a tight game and some of the Whitecraigs players, with their choice of playing attire, took it quite literally. Prior to kick off there was a minutes silence in memory of Bill McLaren, all at Dalziel have fond memories of the legendary commentator.

When the game kicked off on the dull, damp, afternoon the Dalziel support new that their team had not taken the field in over si...

Dalziel 1st XV 31 v 3 RHC
Saturday saw Dalziel maintain their nine point lead at the top of the league. The opponents were RHC Cougars. Conditions were far from ideal, fog hung over the ground creating a cold atmosphere. This did not seem to suit the Royal High coaching staff who seemed determined to have the game postponed, but to the referee’s credit he justifiably dismissed their requests and the game went ahead.

As Ro...
