Dalziel v Musselburgh
Dalziel hoped to get back to winning ways at home to Musselburgh on Saturday and from the kick off looked as though they had got over the disappointment of last week's defeat.

Their early pressure was however repelled by the visitors and the home side conceded the first of many needless penalties to allow the Musselburgh scrum half to knock over the kick for a 3 to 0 lead. For the next ten minute...

Dalziel 1st XV 10 v 27 Whitecraigs
Dalziel travelled to Whitecraigs having narrowly won the last three encounters between the clubs and new that today would be a tough one. And so it proved.

For the first 10 minutes Dalziel were the dominant side, and were rewarded for their efforts with a try from Ross Donachie converted by Robert Simpson to take a 7 point lead. The game played out in midfield for the next 10 minutes until Whitec...

Dalziel 1st XV 43 v 13 Morgan Academy
On a perfect day for running rugby Dalziel took to the field confident that they could improve on the previous weekends winning start to the season. The opponents today were Morgan.

From the kick off Dalziel began to dominate territory and possession and on 7 minutes from a poor Morgan clearance kick Craig Simmonds ran the ball back, interpassing between Crawford Reid and Ross McAulay say the ba...

Dalziel 1st XV 11 v 10 Dumfries
Dalziel started the 2010/11 season away to Dumfries on Saturday and returned up the M74 to Motherwell with the spoils.

The game was never the greatest to watch but the travelling support were encouraged by the amount of possession the Dalziel lads had throughout the match. On numerous occasions the Motherwell lads lacked composure when in possession and had to make do with a Robert Simpson penal...

Dalziel 2nd XV 24 v 31 Melrose
Dalziel 2nds completed their league programme with a close encounter at the Greenyards today, Sunday 9th May.

Although out scored by five tries to two, Dalziel played superbly and man of the match, Andy MacLaren kept them in touch with four penalties and one conversion.

The forwards gave an excellent display of how to scrummage and maul and a well worked try by winger Lewis MacSween meant that...

Dalziel 1st XV 44 v 3 Ellon
In the last five days of a long but enjoyable season, from Annan to Aberdeen, Dalziel traversed the length and breadth of Scotland in their quest to complete an undefeated Scottish Hydro Electric League programme.

With seven unanswered tries at each of these two far flung venues, their mission was successfully accomplished!

Their visit to Third placed Ellon was a very obvious ‘banana skin’, ...

Dalziel 1st XV 43 v 0 Annan
Dalziel arrived at Annan’s Violet Park intent on winning the league title. On a pleasant spring evening they set about the task in hand encouraged by the travelling support.

From the kick off Dalziel mounted pressure on the Annan defence and on 10 minutes were rewarded when Robert Simpson kicked behind the Annan defence for Fraser Duguid to score. Simpson converted and Dalziel were 7 points ah...

Dalziel 2nd XV 33 v 5 Currie
Dalziel 2nds travelled to Edinburgh on Tuesday night to play a rearranged National 2nd XV League fixture against Scotland’s top placed club, Premier 1 Currie. On a fine evening the Motherwell boys set about their task and produced one of the finest performances I have seen in many years

From the kick of Dalziel pushed into Currie territory and were rewarded after 5 minutes with a penalty, conver...

On a good day for running rugby Dalziel took to the field knowing that two victories from their last three games would give them the league title, and in front of a large home crowd they set about getting the first of these against Livingston on Saturday.

From the kick off it was obvious that Dalziel were out to dominate the game and within 5 minutes Gillon Duguid but in a good kick, benefited fr...
