Friendly game @ Dalziel Park, 27/8/11
DALZIEL S2s pipped by well – organised FALKIRK In a highly competitive home encounter Dalziels S2s were outscored by their well organised Falkirk opponents . After a close opening spell Falkirk eventually breached the Dalziel defence for their winger to go over in the corner. Because of the even matched nature of the sides the remainder of the half stayed scoreless .
After an in depth team talk the home side took the game to their opponents. Then after a series of “pick & gos “ hooker Crosson sneaked over under the posts with stand off Mcalorum adding the point to give the home side a single point advantage. Falkirk were not to be deterred and stormed back with another touchdown in the corner. Dalziel instead of sticking to the task lost their discipline and gave several penalties away one of which the visitors kicked to effectively close out the match. Again this was an encounter that Dalziel could have won but their lack of discipline and organisation cost them dearly – much work to be done !
